JEE Main 2025 Normalization Formula

After compiling the raw score, the NTA will apply the normalization formula to get the percentile scores for each subject. This percentile score will be used to prepare for the JEE Main 2025 merit list. The percentile scores are calculated up to 7 decimal places so that it can avoid ties among the candidates with the same scores. The formula to calculate the JEE Main 2025 marks vs percentile is mentioned below:

JEE Main 2025 Tie Breaker Guideline

These guidelines come into effect when two or more candidates get equal scores. Here are the tie-breaker guidelines mentioned below:

  • Candidates who secured higher percentile scores in Mathematics will get preference.
  • If that doesn't break the tie, then candidates obtaining the higher percentile scores in Physics will get the priority.
  • If still the tie exists, then the candidate obtaining a higher percentile in Chemistry will get the preference.
  • Finally, older candidates will get priority.

NTA will release the JEE Main 2025 result separately for each session on the official website. The best of the NTA scores is taken for the candidates who attempt all JEE Main 2025 sessions. The merit list will be prepared based on the final scores and ranks announced based on the same.
